Relationship Goals (1)
The holidays, surprise flowers, matching outfits, baecations, love quotes, “my partner broke their phone so they emailed just to reach me” You want allah that right?
There’s nothing wrong with wanting a healthy relationship. Everyone wants love, stability, someone who actually cares for them properly. That’s the norm.
But sometimes I look at it and think… some people want things that they’re honestly not built for.
- Like you want loyalty, but are you loyal?
- You want consistency, but are you consistent?
- You want reassurance, but are you reassuring?
- You want effort, but do you put effort in?
- You want respect, but are you respectful?
- You want security, but do your actions create safety or doubt?
- You want understanding, but do you have good comprehension skills?
- You want honesty, but are you honest?
- You want peace, but are you peaceful?
- You want someone who only talks to you, but how many people are you entertaining?
- You want emotional maturity, but do you actually hold yourself accountable?
I just think sometimes we focus so much on what we want, we forget to ask ourselves whether we’re becoming the kind of person who can actually receive it.
Because wanting something is easy. Socials makes everything look so effortless. Real relationships though? That takes growth, patience, self-awareness… sometimes even working on yourself.
That’s why I always come back to this question:
Yeah, you might want that kind of relationship… but based on who you are, would that type of relationship want you?
And listen, you can dream about it, pray for it, want it. There’s nothing wrong with that. Just make sure you also become someone capable of being loved that way too.
