Secret formula
You ever notice how every other day someone’s trying to sell you the “secret recipe” to get rich? Social media is full of influencers, traders, or self-proclaimed business gurus promising overnight success. And honestly, nobody who’s actually made real money is handing out their blueprint so easily.
Think about it. Bill Gates never wrote a guide on exactly how he built Microsoft. Warren Buffett doesn’t give cheat sheets on which stocks to buy and when. And it’s the same for Musk, Bezos, Branson, Zuckerberg, Oprah. They’ll share lessons and philosophies, sure, but the exact steps that made them rich? Have a laugh.
Most of these “get rich quick” e-books aren’t even about business or investing. They’re just selling you the idea of being rich. Sell the idea of being rich well enough and eventually you might just become rich yourself. That’s how they really do it. Hundreds, even thousands, pay £30 for the dream, and the author profits from looking like he actually did something. Then they rinse and repeat the same method again and again. Until they’re finally swimming in gold.
Forums and “exclusive communities.” If you’re inexperienced, you’ll sit there listening to someone talk about things they don’t even understand. But because they’re confident and good at selling it, they’ll eat off the lot of you.
Before being amazed by someone else’s lifestyle, just remember this. People can rent cars, hire apartments, borrow designer clothes, Klarna payments, Wowcher, Groupon. All that stuff can help make anyone look successful. Free conferences, events, photoshoots. It can all be staged to make someone look booked and busy. People see the cars, suits, and “busy schedule” and make baseless assumptions.
So yeah, if someone claims they’ve handing you the secret to becoming the next Elon Musk for £30 subscription, take it with a pinch of salt. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. And most of the time, the only people getting rich off that “secret formula” are the ones selling it.
