Adapt

Out in the wild, lions, gazelles, hippos, crocodiles, buffalo, elephants, honey badgers, they all share the same space. Different instincts, different strengths, yet somehow they exist side by side. They know the rules of the game.

It’s the same with people. Some will smile at you, act like your friend, then strike when you least expect it, like a hippo snapping at a gazelle. Others you clash with, yet you still share the same space, like a crocodile and a lion feeding from the same kill.

Some will look down on you for staying quiet, for not doing too much. They’ll see you as weak, as insignificant, like a lion challenging an elephant, forgetting the elephant is the strongest. Some will test your patience, until they realise, like a honey badger, you’re ready to crash out at any moment.

Then there are those who step into your world trying to take what you built, like lions challenging other lions for their pride. Sometimes you catch prey, only to see hyenas waiting, ready to snatch it the moment you drop your guard. That’s the wild. That’s life.

Sometimes food is plentiful, and there is enough for everyone. Sometimes it is scarce, and even the ones you thought were yours turn on you.

Complaining is pointless. You have to learn to adapt, to navigate the space you chose to be in, because you cannot control everything, only how you respond.
